Hotels

There are several hotels that have sprouted up in Loreto since the beginning of its development into a tourist hot spot during the mid-to-late twentieth century. While making the usual Loreto activities (as well as accommodations) convenient for visitors, hotels in Loreto also strive hard to preserve the sense of history and culture that makes Loreto so appealing to travelers. Many of the hotels are built close to the stores, food places, historical spots, marinas, docks, or public beaches of Loreto, to provide better access to the landmarks of the historical town.

Some large hotels in Loreto, like the Las Cabanas de Loreto (The Cabanas of Loreto in English), provide amenities like air-conditioned rooms, pools, bikes, hot tubs, movie libraries, and secure and convenient parking spaces. Other hotels in Loreto of this type, like Coco Cabanas Loreto, boast more about their convenient prices on top of providing similar amenities and proximity to activity hubs such as the public beaches or the town square. Some hotels like the Danzante (The Dancer in English) become popular not only for their food, but also for their accessibility from the local airport. The Tripui Hotel Resort, like a few other Loreto hotels, is known for their excellent service to their customers (including room service), their impeccable décor in their guest rooms, and their fantastic view of the surrounding Loreto scenery.

Some other hotels are favored for their quaint natures which reflect the town itself almost perfectly. These Loreto hotels are smaller, house-sized inns, and are often run as a business by the locals. The Damiana Inn, for example, is not only known for its cheap accommodations, but also for its history. It was, as is the case of inns in Loreto such as this, built originally as a home (in this case, Damiana was built in the early 1900’s) and was then restored only recently – in 2005. Among the charms of this kind of establishment is its exquisite fusion of old and new: modern amenities such as baths, WiFi, a library and the like are woven seamlessly into the theme of traditional Loreto culture like allowing non-tourists to hang around its public areas and welcoming them like old friends. Hotels in Loreto such as this attract regular visits from tourists from all over the world because they are generally seen as warm and friendly establishments because they are eclectically decorated and are often run by people who you would not hesitate to call by name or who make you feel like family.

What all these hotels have in common are their flexible proximities to certain areas of Loreto that cater to any tourist’s desire. People can shop, fish, golf, deep-dive, swim, snorkel, play tennis, sample the local cuisine, explore, sunbathe – travelers can always find things to do in Loreto, and Loreto hotels will always make sure they are comfortable as they do them.
